Back Pain Utah

There many different health ailments that many of us go through. One such ailment is low back pain. Though there are many different treatments for low back pain, acupuncture has been shown to be a great alternative for low back pain.

In our acupuncture clinic in Salt Lake City, low back pain is probably one of the most common health conditions we see. We will treat low back pain from disc herniation, arthritis, muscle strains, to sciatica. Many times the pain can even be caused that is unrelated to the low back, such as kidney stones. There can be many different reasons why you could have low back pain.

How can acupuncture help with low back pain? We will look at your body as a whole and determine what your Chinese medical diagnosis is. With acupuncture we will see which channel is affected. Channels are what transport blood and essential substances throughout your body to nourish your organs. Channels are named after your organs, so you have a liver channel, bladder channel, heart channel, and so forth. Typically with low back pain the bladder channel, kidney channels, gallbladder channel, and governing channels are affected. When we find the channel or channels that are affected then we treat those channels.

Utilizing acupuncture will allow the blood to flow better throughout the channels which will stimulate and promote your body’s self healing mechanisms. Physiologically acupuncture will act on the brain and will release natural chemicals such as endorphins, hormones, and your body’s natural pain killers. There are other studies that have shown acupuncture will block different pain receptors within the spine as well.

Acupuncture has been shown to be very effective for the treatment of low back pain. If you or anyone you know has low back pain for any reason tell them about acupuncture.
